“From Dusk Till Dawn” is a 1996 crime horror film directed by Robert Rodriguez and written by Quentin Tarantino. The movie follows the story of the criminal Gecko brothers, Seth and Richie, who are on the run after a bank robbery in Texas. They kidnap a family, the Fullers, and use their RV as a getaway vehicle, heading towards the Mexican border.

As they are pursued by the police, the group stops at a bar called “The Titty Twister”, which is located in the middle of a desert. Inside, they find a group of vampire-like creatures who turn out to be the patrons and staff of the bar. Chaos ensues as the group fights for survival against the vampire horde.

The movie is notable for its blend of horror and crime genres, and its use of dark humor. The film stars George Clooney and Tarantino as the Gecko brothers, Harvey Keitel as the patriarch of the Fuller family, and Juliette Lewis as his daughter.

The Titty Twister bar in the film was based on a real bar located in Ciudad Acuña, Mexico, that was frequented by the film’s director, Robert Rodriguez. The bar was called “The Tres Equis” and was known for its raunchy atmosphere.

The film marked the first collaboration between Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino, who had been friends for several years before the film’s production. They would go on to collaborate on several more projects, including the Grindhouse double feature, “Planet Terror” and “Death Proof”.

Salma Hayek was originally cast as the vampire dancer Santanico Pandemonium but as the film shifted directions her part got bigger and more prominent. And as she spent more time on set, her chemistry with George Clooney developed which was later capitalized on in their movie “Afrter the Sunset”

The film was shot in just 32 days, and the cast and crew reportedly had to deal with extreme heat and humidity while filming in Mexico.

The film was a modest box office success, grossing $25.7 million on a budget of $19 million. But it become a Cult classic and a following.

The dialogue in the film was largely improvised by the actors, which helped to create the gritty, realistic feel that is a signature of the film.
