Winnick started her acting career in 1999, appearing in various Canadian television shows such as PSI Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal and Student Bodies. In 2003, she made her feature film debut in the comedy-drama film “Bio-Dome” starring Pauly Shore and Stephen Baldwin.
Her breakthrough role came in 2007, when she played the lead role in the Canadian television series “Bones.” She gained wider recognition for her portrayal of the shieldmaiden Lagertha in the historical drama series “Vikings,” which aired from 2013 to 2020.
